Surgery.Day

Today is surgery day and I am a wreck! Sweet Berlyn had a really good night and has been great today! This is the best she has ever been! It kills me she has to go through surgery. Her surgery time was scheduled for 1145 but we didn't go til 145 which didn't help our stress. She has been so good all day and when we went down to the OR she cried the whole way! It literally killed me. It seriously tore me apart. It was one of the worse things I had to go through. I do not wish this on anyone it's horrible!! It was emotional watching them wheel our beautiful girl away. The surgery was scheduled for an hour but took a lot longer. They had trouble putting in her breathing tube but finally were able to after a half and hour. Dr Meyers was her surgeon and she was happy with the results. The diagnosis was an omphalomesenteric duct remnant. This was a tube that normally dissolves at 8 weeks of gestation. Once again it is rare! Only 2% of all births have this!! She's a rare girl!! She is having a hard time waking up from anesthesia but she is looking great. We are happy to be through her first surgery but that was the hardest thing to do. We want to thank all of you for the love, support and all the many prayers you have gave our family.

When we went to see her before we left right when she heard our voices she... WOKE up!! She was bright eyed and moving a ton. It was so nice and comforting to us. She is sucking on her breathing tube it is darling. The doctors are all surprised she is awake already and doing so well. She is a fighter and we love her so much! 

She was sprawled out with her toes out it was so cute! 

We put warm blankets on her and she pushed them off with her hands!! She is getting so strong!
